Why we created our products…………….

The metabolites of oxidation, more commonly known as free radicals can be detrimental to one’s general health, but they can also reduce skin elasticity and contribute to the visual effects of premature ageing. With our products, we have creatively merged existing natural phyto-nutrients and a new Tasmanian Olive Oil processing development, which will  bestow nature’s bounty to your skin.

ORIA products protect and enhance your skin by giving you what comes natural, but with our help!

We have determined that ORIA’s formula will provide your skin with protection in wide ranging climatic conditions, and it will remain perfectly nourished and moisturised. If you prefer, applied cosmetic foundation products will happily remain intact all day, and touch ups or blots will become the thing of the past!

ORIA’s natural products care for both dry and oily skin. We don’t discern, because as in Nature, our products are designed to create a balance between action and reaction.

About our creations……….

A new Tasmanian Olive Oil innovation (Australian Patent 2005100970) was developed to retain a maximum amount of nature’s anti-oxidant olive fruit polyphenols, and it also contains world beating concentrations of mono-unsaturated fatty acids. The oil is termed Ultra Virgin Olive Oil (UVOO).

We at ORIA have found the optimum balance of natural skin-care phyto-nutrients and anti-oxidants. UVOO  has very high concentrations of antioxidants, including chlorophyll, carotenoids and the polyphenol compounds tyrosol, hydrotyrosol and oleuropein, which combat free radicals and also protect UVOO’s high vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) content. ORIA also contains Anthocyanidins, which are very powerful plant antioxidants that  protect cell membranes from disease and extremes of ultraviolet light.

Our creams, eye gel, cleanser and toner contain natural organic bilberry extract, strawberry fruit liquid and soy bean extract, rose hip oil aloe vera, green tea, vitamin E, marine collagen, jojoba, othmanthus, witch hazel, rose water, palm oil, wax, grape fruit extract, white spider orchid, magnolia, ylang ylang, water lily extract, patchouli, frangipani,  coconut extract, and cucumber oil.

If you prefer to use cosmetic foundation products, we recommend that you follow Step 1 and Step 2 before applying your foundation, and allow at least 2 minutes between each application.

PREMIER COAT.  Step 1.  (pink cream)…………..($45-00)

After cleansing your skin, apply a small amount of ORIA PREMIER. You will feel your skin come alive and full of enriching anti-oxidants found in Tasmanian Ultra Virgin Olive Oil, strawberry fruit essence, grapefruit seed extract, jojoba oil, rose hip oil, and silk powder.

These ingredients will penetrate deep into the skin’s cell membranes to protect against harsh environments, keeping the skin moist, supple and full of oxygen, thus reducing the ageing effect.  (The regular consumption of good food grade olive oil has been found to reduce arterial plaque, thus lowering high blood pressure and increasing blood oxygen flow around the body.)

The premier coat is to enhance the skin and prepare for the Finale Coat.

  THE STORY

A Tasmanian olive grower has developed a new oil production  technique to  produce what he calls Ultra Virgin Olive Oil. Olives grown in  regions of cool climate Tasmania can produce higher concentrations of oleic acid than found in most of the world’s extra virgin olive oil. Oleic acid is the main mono-unsaturated fatty acid in olive oil and it is highly  nutritious.

Given the advantage of his region’s Tasmanian climate, and by  applying strict criteria to horticultural technique, fruit harvest timing and processing; Virgin Gold Olives now produces an oil with a guaranteed minimum of 180mg/kg of total fruit polyphenols, a mono-unsaturated fatty acid level greater than 83%, and a free fatty acid level below 0.2% (extra virgin olive oil by definition can be as high as 0.8%). The process to produce Ultra Virgin Olive Oil has been granted an Australian patent (2005100970) and Trade Mark.

The Origin of the Name ORIA.

The name ORIA comes from the ancient Greek language and it means “of the mountain”. Tasmania’s Mount Wellington towers majestically above surrounding mountain peaks near our olive grove. Earlier volcanic activity helped create the minerals in our soils, and now warm air up-draughts from rugged mountain slopes help to precipitate rain to sustain our grove.

Ultra Virgin Olive Oil

Olive oil has been used by mankind internally and externally for thousands of years as a both food and medicine. Horticultural and processing developments have ensured that we can continue to optimise the natural benefits bestowed to us by the olive tree.

In 2005, Virgin Gold Olives, a southern Tasmanian olive grove discovered that it could produce an olive oil which had higher oleic acid content than the Extra Virgin Olive Oil maximum (as stipulated by the International Olive Council, the peak statutory  body for the world’s main olive growing countries).

This oil was produced by ensuring that the fruit was harvested during maximum polyphenol content and then freshly processed.  Polyphenols, which include anti-oxidants, diminish as fruit ripens to produce more oil. Virgin Gold Olives advocates that olive oil’s nutritional quality has to be the main consideration, so we harvest approximately 3 weeks before maximum oil yield is achieved within the fruit. We prefer to measure the quality of our oil objectively in an accredited laboratory.

Our patented process (Australian Patent 2005100970) now produces an olive oil with naturally occurring oleic acid level higher than 83% (within the fatty acid profile), and a free fatty acid level equal to or less than 0.2%, with total polyphenol content greater than 180mg /kg.

Tasmanian Ultra Virgin Olive Oil is one of the main components in our newly developed day cream.

We hope that you to will reap the benefits of our innovated efforts to improve the  quality of olive oil.
